Error description
When using IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments - Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V all attempted virtual machine (VM) backups are successful but the following error message is logged repeatedly in the error log and the command line output or scheduler log: ANS0106E Message index not found for message 7125. ======================= Diagnosing the issue: Repairing or replacing the file dscenu.txt in the baclient and the api64 directory with the original from the installation package does not prevent the message. This APAR applies if the list of VMs to back up includes one or more VM replicas and the following warning is not logged or displayed: ANS2338W The process has detected a request to backup a virtual machine replica. The state of the replica 'vmreplicaname', ID='vmid' may differ from the original virtual machine. If the names of the original virtual machine and the replica are identical the same file space will be used. Problem conclusion
The problem was that warining message ANS2338W was not displayed when the HyperV replica virtual machine was backed up. Backup of the HyperV replica vm succeeds but we should let user know that the state of the replica virtual machine may differ from the original virtual machine. The Spectrum Protect client has been modified to issue message "ANS2338W The process has detected a request to backup a virtual machine replica. ..."
