Error description

  • Restoring a VM using IBM Spectrum Protect Plus can fail with
    following error in the Joblog:
    ERROR,id, date,2,CTGGA1480,There
is no destination file for vDisk ([datastorename]
    vmname/vmname_3.vmdk).

This behavior is seen during all
restore methods (production, test and clone). The failing disk
can also be selected in the user interface as individual disk
    to be restored.
When verifying the vSnap backup storage, this
    disk is however not present.

The reason for the error is that
this disk is a pRDM (physical Raw Device Mapping) disk. These
disks are skipped during backup because, as per VMware VM
snapshot feature limitations, these can not be included in a
    snapshot.
The following message will be seen in the virgo log
during the backup of such a guest:
    [date-time] INFO Thread-<ID>
    c.syncsort.dp.xsb.vsphereprovider.vijava.vadp.VirtualMachineObj
<JobID> VM vmname disk [datastorename] vmname/vmname_3.vmdk is
a pRDM disk, will skip it.
