  • You will see errors like the following in the JobLog:

    Restore failed: Failed to start instance

Local fix

  • 1. Dump the params of the source DB to a text pfile.
    2. Copy
    the file to a location on the Oracle server e.g.
    /home/oracle/spp_restore_template.ora
    3. Edit the file and fix
    the parameters based on the recommendations in this Oracle KB
    article: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSNQFQ_1
    0.1.6/spp/t_spp_creating_oracle_restore_job.html
    4. When
    defining the SPP restore jobs, select options Init Params =
    Template, and specify the template file path i.e.
    /home/oracle/spp_restore_template.ora
    5. If the Oracle errors
    ORA-27154, ORA-27300, ORA-27301, and ORA-27302 occur, increase
    the number of kernel semaphores or decrease the number of
    processes required in the template.
