IT33392: CLIENT BACKUP COMPLETES WITH ANS1832W WARNING MESSAGES, BUT ANS1832W DOES NOT SHOW EXACT EFFECTED OPTION NAME

Error description

  • The following messages are logged in the dsmerror.log of the
    client:
    ANS1832W The option '________E' is no longer supported
    and will be ignored by TSM client in this release.
    OR
    ANS1832W
    The option '______P' is no longer supported and will be ignored
    by TSM client in this release.
    
    Customer/Support Diagnostics:
    
    Collect the service trace during the backup and search for
    '1832' (ANS1832W) error, then validate the option between the
    <SCROLLPROMPT> and <SUBDIR> options.

    Accord
    ing to above debug messages, the option between the
    <SCROLLPROMPT> and <SUBDIR> options will introduce the ANS1832W
    warning message. In this particular case following options are
    used, the client option 'SNAPSHOTCACHESIZE' is not supported
    for Windows client, it is valid for AIX and Linux clients only.

Local fix

  • 1. Remove 'SNAPSHOTCACHESIZE' option from dsm.opt file if
    exist.
    2. Remove 'SNAPSHOTCACHESIZE' option from client option
    set.
