Error description

  • Java NullpointerException appears in syslog for mapping node
when Broker detail is logged in service trace. Following
exception is logged.

BIP3949E: An error occurred during the
processing of a message. The error message is
'java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.ibm.broker.xci.BrokerCursor.toMbElementString

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM Integration Bus V10 and App Connect Enterprise
V11 with service trace enabled in an integration server when
using a message flow which has a Mapping node.


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform, z/OS

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a service trace is enabled in an integration server with a
message flow which has a Mapping node, there could be the
following exception logged in the service trace and user log -

BIP3949E: An error occurred during the
processing of a message. The error message is
'java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.ibm.broker.xci.BrokerCursor.toMbElementString

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • IBM Integration Bus V10 and App Connect Enterprise V11 have been
updated to execute service trace without exceptions
