Error description

  • There is a situation that involves APIC and DataPower when
logging payload data from success/error events. The specific
use case is when DataPower is logging the payload from either a
request/response body & that payload size's remaining size is
    less than zero.
The way to tell if the remaining size is less
than zero is to compare the payload size with the Max Record
size in the API Analytics endpoint.

Local fix

  • Increase the Max Record size so that value does not dip below
zero or disable the API payload logging entirely.

Problem summary

  • When using DataPower API Gateway, if the log type is set as
payload, and the transaction includes either request body or
response body, and the log file size is approaching the Max
Record Size, then it will cause memory leak in Analytics
    Endpoint.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • Increase the Max Record Size, or disable the API paload logging.
