IT32962: APPLICATION BACKUP FAILS WITH, "THE FILENAME OR EXTENSION IS TOOLONG"

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During an IBM Spectrum Protect Plus application backup,
  it can fail when the filename or extension is greater than
    260 characters on a Windows system. This is a default value
    put in place by Microsoft. The error below is seen in the
    job log of the backup:
