APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Internal lock contention on the server sometimes causes it to
    report that storage agent LANFREE paths do not exist.
    
    This incorrectly causes data to be transferred through the
    server and over the LAN.
    
    This can also cause excessive sessions to be opened with the
    library manager server in order to re-check if a LANFREE path
    exists every time a client session connects.
    
    
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    
    If data read/write path is LANFREE only operation may fail with
    ANR0416W and ANS0350E on client side.
    
    If LAN is allowed the request will go over the LAN.
    It could be determined using 'bytes transferred' value for LAN
    session from 'QUERY SESSION' output for sessions between STA and
    Server.
    
    For example. 'QUERY SESSION' from STA:
    
    75     ShMem      SendW        0 S          5.1 G         399
    Node        AIX       <Client name>
    76     SSL             Run               0 S          848
    5.1 G     Server      AIX       <Server name>
    
    Also traces from STA will show that there is no path for Library
    Server:
