APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user observes that...
    - the error Alert LED in the front panel is ON,
    - the "show sensors-other" gives "Output Failure" for the PSU
    - the "test hardware" CLI output shows
"Power supply '2' has failed." (or '1'),
    - the "show ipmi-sel" CLI output shows that PSU1 or PSU2
       has "powerSupplyFailureDetected",
    - but related PSU's LED is GREEN, which means that PSU is still
in the normal state and working good.
The user observes the "Output Failure" only if removing the
power cable less then 6 seconds.

Local fix

  • Remove the power cable longer than 6 seconds.

Problem summary

  • After the power off of MQ Alliance, Alert LED in the front panel
might be on and the cli command 'show ipmi-sel' might report
'Output Failure' for PSU1 or PSU2. However, the LED of that PSU
    is still green.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix
