Error description

  • When trying to move or copy messages from one transmission
queue to another, for example using the dmpmqmsg utility, the
MQPUT fails with MQRC_XQH_ERROR (2260) when re-queueing
messages.

USERS AFFECTED:
Users attempting to put a message that contains an MQXQH
(transmission header) structure, who have applied the fix for
APAR IT29262.


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic error in the code changes made under APAR IT29262 meant
that the queue manager would incorrectly detect the MQXQH
structure as invalid, if the message contained an MQXQH at the
start of the MQPUT operation.

Messages where the MQXQH is added by the queue manager during
the MQPUT (for example when putting to a remote queue
definition) are unaffected by this issue.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The MQ queue manager logic has been corrected, so that the
validation of the MQXQH structure is applied appropriately.
