APAR status

Error description

  • If a decimal value is specified for the Throttle value, actions
such as Replication/Offload will fail.
You will see a message similar to the following in the vSnap
logs:
TransferError: Transfer failed: invalid literal for int() with
base 10: '681574.4'
NOTE: The value will be different for each customer.
Initial impact: Low

Problem conclusion

  • The vSnap bandwidth throttling logic had incorrect logic for
parsing the value of the bandwidth. It expected an integer
(whole number) and failed with unexpected errors if the
specified value was a floating point number containing a decimal
point. The problem has been resolved by fixing the parsing logic
to ensure floating point values are handled correctly.
