Error description
Backing up files using the BA Client running on macOS Mojave 10.14 may encounter the following error. "ANS4007E Error processing '<path>': access to the object is denied" AND "I/O error reading file attribute: com.apple.FinderInfo for: /<path>/. errno = 1, Operation not permitted" This issue was reported when backing up 'Photo Library' files, but other files and directories could be affected, due to macOS introducing 'Full Disk Access' restrictions specifically from macOS Mojave 10.14, which prevents Spectrum Protect from backing up certain directories. This will affect manual and scheduled backups. Local fix
1. Go to [System Preferences] > [Security & Privacy] > [Full Disk Access] (unlock the padlock if needed) 2. Add the following items to the list: 1. [Applications] > [IBM Spectrum Protect] > [IBM Spectrum Protect for Administrators] 2. [Applications] > [Utilities] > [Terminal] After performing the above change, it's important to be aware that manual backups from the terminal or from the IBM Spectrum Protect GUI will be successful. Scheduled backups being ran from LAUNCHCTL will still not be able to back up this location and fail in the same manner. Sheduled backups using "sudo dsmc sched" will be successful, so until a fix is available, amend scheduled backups away from LAUNCHCTL.
