IT28435: DATAPOWER FTP POLLER HANDLER UNABLE TO PROCESS FILE THAT HAS SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN THE FILENAME

Fix packs for DataPower Gateway version 7.6

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The user observed that a FTP Poller Handler is not able to
  process a file which has special characters like "%" (percent)
  in the filename - if those characters are not url-encoded.
  The affected file is not retrieved from source folder and "FTP
  Client: unable to rename from URL..." errors appears in the
  logs.
  

Local fix

• Try to avoid special characters in the filenames or be sure to
  properly url-encode them (e.g. "%25" for "%").
  

Problem summary

• Configurable fields in FTP Poller Front Side Handler, can
  be improperly handled for use in URI's.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix is available in 7.6.0.16 and 2018.4.1.7

Temporary fix

• Use only charaters which do not need URL
  encoding whithin the FTP Pollers URI.
