Error description

  • CICS resource adapter XA option can currently be "on" or "off".

    If it is "on", the flow type is XAFlow. If it is "off" the flow
    type is ExtendedModeEci.

    This APAR introduces a new XA option "none" making the flow type
    EciSynconreturn.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The CICS Transaction Gateway (TG) resource adapter classes are
    used for communicating to CICS transaction servers. This adapter
    currently provides the option for setting the transaction
    support level to be "LocalTransaction" and "XATransaction", but
    there is not a "NoTransaction" option.

    The CICS TG resource adapter APAR PH06220 adds support for
    "NoTransaction".

Problem conclusion

  • The CICS TG libraries have been updated within the product, and
    a new environment variable added called MQSI_ADAPTERS_XASUPPORT
    to allow the xaSupport property on the
    ECIManagedConnectionFactory class to be modified. This should
    only be used on request by IBM Support.

    The supported values for this environment variable are:
    "off" - local transaction, the flow type is "ExtendedModeEci"
    (default);
    "on" - XA transaction, the flow type is "XAFlow";
    "none" - no transaction, the flow type is "EciSynconreturn".
