Error description

  • The IBM MQ reporting service attempts to connect to the ICP
    metering endpoint but fails to authenticate even if the
    specified API key is valid.
    
    One of the following errors is
    written to the queue manager error logs:
    
    AMQ5059: The queue manager failed to register with the
    configured IBM Cloud Product Insights service.
    
    AMQ5060: The queue manager failed to upload usage statistics to
    the configured IBM Cloud Product Insights service.

    Any user who has configured MQ to connect to the ICP metering
    service endpoint.

    Linux on x86-64, Linux on zSeries, Linux on Power, Linux on S390

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The MQ queue manager did not correctly interact with the ICP
    metering service API. This meant that after configuring MQ to
    connect to the ICP metering service, the queue manager failed to
    register with the service or to report periodic usage
    information. Additionally, it was observed that on some systems
    where MQ was running outside of a container, the number of cores
    reported was inaccurate.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix corrects the queue manager's invocation of the necessary
    APIs to register and record usage with the ICP metering service.
    It also resolves the issue of inaccurate core reporting in
    non-container environments.
