Error description
When data from a node is being stored into multiple directory container storage pools, it is possilbe that the data will be stored into the wrong container with a different storage pool id than the one the container belongs to. This is only seen when includes are used and the files are larger than 25MB. For example, node NODE1 is backing up the folder \temp\Folder1 to IBM Spectrum Protect server SERVER1. In \temp\Folder1, we have the following four files - FileA.aaa 50MB FileB.bbb 50MB FileC.aaa 50MB FileD.bbb 50MB The include exclude file has the following include statements specified: include \temp\Folder1\*.aaa MGMT1 include \temp\Folder1\*.bbb MGMT2 At SERVER1, there are two management classes named MGMT1 and MGMT2 which tie out to two directory container storage pools named CONT1 and CONT2. As a result of this APAR, when backup of \temp\Folder1 occurs, it is possible that data stored into a container for CONT1 actually belongs to CONT2 or vice versa. This can lead to problems when attempting to empty and delete containers. Running move container against the affected container can also result in extents being marked damaged. Audit container will not detect or fix the problem. Once this APAR is addressed new incoming data will be stored in the correct containers. This APAR is similar to the issue described in IT17718. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: To confirm if the problem is being encountered, the following can be run via a cmd prompt: db2 connect to tsmdb1 db2 set schema tsmdb1 db2 "select sdcl.poolid as sdcl_poolid, sdcn.poolid as sdcn_poolid, sdcl.cntrid as cntrid, sdcl.refcount as refcount, sdcl.flags as flags, count as count from sd_chunk_locations sdcl inner join sd_containers sdcn on (sdcn.cntrid=sdcl.cntrid) where sdcl.poolid!=sdcn.poolid group by sdcl.poolid, sdcn.poolid, sdcn.cntrid, sdcl.cntrid, sdcl.refcount, sdcl.flags for read only with ur" If the select returns some rows of data, then you are most likely affected by this APAR or APAR IT17718. IBM Spectrum Protect Server Versions Affected: 7.1.3.0 or higher IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Server on all platforms 8.1.0.0 or higher IBM Spectrum Protect Server on all platforms Initial Impact: Medium Additional Keywords: TSM
