Error description
This APAR contains enhancements to the runmqras utility, solving the following limitations: 1. Current runmqras command does not record the pmap output for MQ processes. Also, the amqspdbg commands are not recorded, although their output would be useful and they are quite often requested from customers anyway. 2. It would be extremely useful to have environment variable information associated with each MQ process. Currently runmqras does not offer this possibility. 3. Retrieving queue manager data directory listings would be a useful feature to have on the runmqras utility. 4. Make the file listings recursive in order to see contents of sub-directories. 5. Capturing amqp stdout and stderr files (MQ v9 and v8).
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: IBM MQ users running the runmqras utility. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Added new functionality to the runmqras utility: 1. Collect process maps for key MQ processes. 2. Collect environment variables information. 3. Collect queue manager data directory listings. 4. File listings are now recursive to show contents of sub-directories. 5. Collect amqp output files.
Problem conclusion
1. Added pmap and amqspdbg functionality to runmqras. A new section "leak" was added to the runqmras utility, allowing to retrieve the process map for the amqzlaa0 and amqrmppa processes, as well as run the standard set of amqspdbg commands that are typically asked from users. The section was added for HP-UX, Linux, Darwin, SunOS, AIX operating systems. 2. Added environment variable information to ps output. Runmqras will now by default retrieve the environment variable information. The feature has been implemented for Linux, Darwin, SunOS, AIX operating systems. 3. Queue manager data directory listings will now be retrieved. Runmqras will now retrieve a listing of the queue manager's data directory by default. This feature has been implemented for HP-UX, Linux, Darwin, SunOS, AIX, Windows, OS/400 and NONSTOP_KERNEL. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v7.5 7.5.0.9 v8.0 8.0.0.9 v9.0 CD 9.0.5 v9.0 LTS 9.0.0.3 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
