Error description
The client_images generated on an IBM Spectrum Control 5.2.14 server will currently only run on the IBM Spectrum Control servers used to create the client image and will not run on a remote computer with different Operating System. When running 'tpctool' on the client the following error may be realized: java.UnsupportedClassVersionError JVMCFRE003 occurred. i.e. ./tpctool.sh Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: JVMCFRE003 bad major version The following variations of the client_images are impacted in SC 5.2.14+ : - TPC_Client_Linux generated on IBM Spectrum Control server (Windows) failed on Linux RH6.8 / 7.0 - TPC_Client_Windows generated on IBM Spectrum Control server (RH) failed on Windows - TPC_Client_AIX generated on IBM Spectrum Control server (RH) failed on AIX7 Reference: Accessing IBM Spectrum Control server from a remote computer using Command Line Interface: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS5R93_5.2.14/com.ib m.spectrum.sc.doc/fqz0_t_install_tpc_as_standalone.html ________________________________________________________ DB2 Version used for Server: N/A The defect is against component: configuration Server/Manager build/release (TPC): 5.2.14 Agent build/release (TPC): N/A Server/Manager (OS): N/A Agent (OS): N/A ________________________________________________________________ Problem as described by customer: tpctool fails on client with java errors Initial customer impact (low/med/high): low
