Error description
Performing a VM restore from the Spectrum Protect for Virtual Machines GUI fails with a pop up showing the error message GVM1170E. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: For this issue to be seen the VM being restored must have been restored back to the same VM name with a different casing. For example, Prodvm was restored to PRODVM. Then an attempt to restore the original VM data will fail with the GVM1170E message showing the current VM name. Enabling the VMCLI trace will show the FUNCTIONS 13:22:38,484 (132231870) ERROR Vmcli:797 ANS2809E The backupid '2911471013' in the input file does not match the vmname 'Prodvm' being restored. #PARAM OBJECT=backupid:2911471013 vmname:PRODVM::vmname:Prodvm-restore #CHILD vmname:PRODVM #CHILD newvmname:Prodvm-restore #ERROR ANS2809E The backupid '2911471013' in the input file does not match the vmname 'Prodvm' being restored. The query being issued will also be listed and it will show that it is being run with the new VM's name and not the old.
