Error description
A "dsmserv restore db" may fail with errors below if the server is running with the 'language" option set to Spanish: For AIX server the Spanish "language" option value is "es_ES or ES_ES" For Windows: "esp" For HPUX: "es_ES.iso88591 or es_ES.utf8" For Linux: "es_ES or es_ES.utf8 For Solaris: "es_ES.ISO8859-1 or es_ES.UTF-8" The problem is that the colon character is missed at the lines of "Volume Seq" and "Operation Date/Time" in the volume stanza of the volume history file. These missing colons can cause problems to the restore database operation of these volumes backed up with "BACKUPFULL" or "BACKPINCR" or "DBSNAPSHOT". Example: ANR4593E La restauración de base de datos no ha podido encontrar ninguna opción idónea para utilizar en el proceso. ANR4602E No se han encontrado volúmenes para TODATE 23/02/2017 20:19:52. Local fix
- Make a backup copy of the original volume history file first. - Then remove all entries from the volhist file, only keep the "BACKUPFULL", "BACKPINCR" or "DBSNAPSHOT", entry which is needed for the restore, example below in Spanish (original version): ***************************************** Fecha/hora de operación 2017/03/07 09:07:25 Tipo de volumen: BACKUPFULL * Location for volume C:\TSMINST1\DBBACKUP\88874045.DBV is: '' Nombre de volumen: "C:\TSMINST1\DBBACKUP\88874045.DBV" Serie de copias de seguridad: 64 Operación de copia de seguridad: 0 Secuencia de volumenes 100001 Nombre de clase de dispositivo: FILECLASS ************************************************** - There are two lines where colon character is missed. Modify these two lines like below, the goal is to have the following characters sequence between the entry name and the value: "space colon space space value". . Change the Date/Time line from "Fecha/hora de operación 2017/03/07 09:07:25" to " Fecha/hora de operación : 2017/03/07 09:07:25" . Change the Volume Seq line from "Secuencia de volúmenes 100001" to "Secuencia de volúmenes : 100001" an entry example below in Spanish (modified version): ***************************************** Fecha/hora de operación : 2017/03/07 09:07:25 Tipo de volumen: BACKUPFULL * Location for volume C:\TSMINST1\DBBACKUP\88874045.DBV is: '' Nombre de volumen: "C:\TSMINST1\DBBACKUP\88874045.DBV" Serie de copias de seguridad: 64 Operación de copia de seguridad: 0 Secuencia de volumenes : 100001 Nombre de clase de dispositivo: FILECLASS ************************************************** - Run the restore again.
