IT18413: AFTER SNAPSHOT QUIESCE ERROR, THERE IS ONE EXTRA SNAPSHOT ATTEMPT

Error description

  • During VM backup with application protection, if errors occur
    quescing the snapshot, there could be an extreneous retry
    attempt. E.g.

    Products affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection
    for VMware version 8.1.0 on Linux and Windows
    
    This problem also affects IBM Spectrum Protect Backup-Archive
    Client which is the data mover for Data Protection for
    VMware 7.1. If you are using Data Protection for VMware
    7.1 refer to APAR IT20059.

Problem conclusion

  • When a snapshot attempt fails, the snapshot counter is updated
    incorrectly. The code has been changed so that it will count
    snapshot attempts correctly.
