APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Editing or updating the client configuration using the
  Graphical User Interface might result in VM related options to
  be deleted in the dsm.sys configuration file.
  
  The options affected are :
  VMLIST, DOMAIN.VMFILE, DOMAIN.VMFULL, VMBACKDIR, VMMC, VMCTLMC,
  VMVSTORTRANSPORT, VMCHOST, VMCUSER, VMCPW
  
  This can happen only if the following is true :
  
  1. there are multiple stanzas in the dsm.sys file
  2. the node with which the GUI is started using the command :
        'dsmj'
   OR
        'dsmj -optfile=<dsm.opt>'
      OR
        'dsmj -servername=<server stanza name in dsm.sys>'
     does not have any VM related option defined or all present
     VM related options are planned to be cleared by the user
     using the GUI.
  
  in that case, upon committing the configuration change, all VM
  related options that might be present in all other server
  stanzas in dsm.sys will be deleted.
  
  Excample :
  
  dsm.sys :
  
    servername server_A
    nodename   node_A
    ...
    VMMC       VMMC_A
  
    servername server_B
    nodename   node_B
    ...
    errorloname dsmerror.log
  
  Editing the configuration of node_B to define the option
  'errorlogname  dsmerror_B.log' using the command
  'dsmj -se=servername_B' will delete the line :
  'VMMC    VMMC_A' in the server stanza 'servername_A'
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
  All supported Tivoli Storage Manager client versions on Linux
  platforms.

• Edit the client configuration file using a text editor.
