Error description
A Tivoli Storage Manager client backup which has client side deduplication and compression enabled, will see an incorrect value calculated in the ending client summary statistics. The value seen will always represent the same value seen for "Total number of bytes transferred". Eg : Total number of objects inspected: 153,101 Total number of objects assigned: 3,579 Total number of objects backed up: 474 Total number of objects updated: 0 Total number of objects rebound: 0 Total number of objects deleted: 0 Total number of objects expired: 85 Total number of objects failed: 4 Total objects deduplicated: 267 Total number of bytes inspected: 16.44 GB Total number of bytes processed: 273.74 MB <======= Total bytes before deduplication: 1.22 GB Total bytes after deduplication: 454.72 MB Total number of bytes transferred: 273.74 MB <======= Data transfer time: 800.62 sec Network data transfer rate: 350.11 KB/sec Aggregate data transfer rate: 174.71 KB/sec Objects compressed by: 40% Deduplication reduction: 63.63% Total data reduction ratio: 98.38% Elapsed processing time: 00:26:44 The actual value for the "Total number of bytes transferred" is calculated correctly, taking into consideration deduplication and compression savings. This only affects the Tivoli Storage Manager Client which has both client side deduplication and compression enabled. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All supported versions and all supported operating systems Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable) Initial Impact: Low|Medium|High Low Additional Keywords: TSM summary statistics dedup compression
