APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DESCRIPTION:
    In the Material Last Updated field, if the Update Material
    Status button is clicked, then the values update correctly.
    However, if the WOMaterialStatusUpdateCronTask is run on a
    schedule, it will not update the Work Order. The Work Order
    status fields will only update correctly if the User clicks the
    Update Material Status button on the Work Order.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Log in to maxdemo instance
    2. Go To Profile | Default Information
    3. Verify, or update the Default Insert Site field to BEDFORD
    4. Verify, or uncheck the "Use Default Insert Site as a Display
    Filter?" checkbox to checked
    5. Click OK
    6. Go To Administration | Organizations (Nuc)
    7. Open the record for EAGLENA
    8. More Actions | Work Order Options | Edit Rules
    9. Click the checkbox in the "WP Materials?" column for every
    Status row except for COMP
    10. Click OK
    11. Save the record if updates were made
    12. More Actions | Work Order Options | Site Options
    13. Click to highlight the row for BEDFORD
    14. In the Status Availability Behavior section, update or
    verify that both checkboxes are UNchecked
    15. Click to highlight the row for NASHUA
    16. In the Status Availability Behavior section, update or
    verify that both checkboxes are UNchecked
    17. Click OK
    18. Save the record if updates were made
    19. More Actions | Work Order Options | Other Organization
    Options
    20. Uncheck the checkboxes for "Ignore storeroom availability
    for work order status?" and "Ignore direct issue availability
    for work order status?"
    21. More Actions | Inventory Options | Inventory Defaults
    22. In the Negative Balance Options section | click the radio
    buttons for "Disallow Negative Balance" and "Disallow Negative
    Available Balance"
    23. Click OK
    24. Save the record if updates were made
    25. Go To System Configuration | Platform Configuration | Cron
    Task Setup
    26. In the Cron Task field enter "womatstatus", then press Enter
    
    27. Click WOMaterialStatusUpdateCronTask
    28. Expand the details for the row
    29. Click the New Row button, or edit the currently Active
    Instance as applicable:
    30. In the Cron Task Instance Name field enter "EAGLENA"
    31. In the Schedule field click the Set Schedule button
    32. Click the radio button for "Every ____ minute(s)", and enter

    33. Click OK
    34. In the Run as User field enter "maxadmin", then tab out
    35. Click the Active checkbox
    36. Verify that the "Keep History?" checkbox is selected
    37. Save the record
    38. More Actions | Reload Request
    39. Click the checkbox to select the row
    40. Click OK
    41. In the Cron Task field enter "invres", then press Enter
    42. Click InvResResTypeUpdateCronTask
    43. Expand the details for the row
    44. Click the New Row button, or edit the currently Active
    Instance as applicable:
    45. In the Cron Task Instance Name field enter "EAGLENA"
    46. In the Schedule field click the Set Schedule button
    47. Click the radio button for "Every ____ minute(s)", and enter

    49. In the Run as User field enter "maxadmin", then tab out
    50. Click the Active checkbox
    51. Save the record
    52. More Actions | Reload Request
    53. Click the checkbox to select the row
    54. Click OK
    55. Go To Profile | Default Information
    56. Verify, or update the Default Insert Site field to NASHUA
    57. Verify, or uncheck the "Use Default Insert Site as a Display
    Filter?" checkbox to checked

    59. Go To Inventory | Item Master (Nuc)
    60. Common Actions | New Item
    61. In the Item field, enter "N-001"
    62. In the Description field, enter "Nashua Material 001"
    63. In the Order Unit field, enter "each", then tab out
    64. In the Issue Unit field, enter "each", then tab out
    65. Save the record
    66. More Actions | Add Items to Storeroom
    67. In the Site field | Select Value | click NASHUA
    68. In the Storeroom field, enter "central", then tab out
    69. Click OK
    70. In the Unit Cost field, enter 3.25, then click OK
    71. Common Actions | Change Status
    72. In the New Status field, click the drop-down arrow, then
    click Active
    73. Click the checkbox for "Roll New Status to Organizations and
    Inventory?"
    74. Click OK
    75. Go To Inventory | Inventory (Nuc)
    76. In the Item field, enter "n-001", then press Enter
    77. Click N-001 to open the record
    78. In the Site field | Select Value | click NASHUA, then press
    Enter
    79. Click N-001 to open the record
    80. On the Reorder Details tab | Primary Vendor field, enter
    "almar", then tab out
    81. In the Lead Time (Days) field, enter 2
    82. Save the record
    83. Go To Purchasing | Purchase Orders (Nuc)
    84. Common Actions | New Purchase Order
    85. In the Company field, enter "almar", then tab out
    86. On the PO Lines tab, click the New Row button
    87. In the Item field, enter "n-001", then tab out
    88. In the Conversion Factor field, enter 1
    89. In the Storeroom field, enter "central", then tab out
    90. Save the record
    91. Common Actions | Approve Purchase Order
    92. Click OK
    93. Go To Purchasing | Receiving
    94. In the PO field, enter the PO number that was approved, then
    press Enter
    95. Click the record to open it
    96. Click the Select Ordered Items button
    97. Click the checkbox to select the row, then click OK
    98. Save the record
    99. Go To Profile | Default Information
    100. Update the Default Insert Site field to BEDFORD
    101. Verify, or uncheck the "Use Default Insert Site as a
    Display Filter?" checkbox to checked
    102. Click OK
    103. Go To Work Orders | Work Order Tracking (Nuc)
    104. Common Actions | New Work Order
    105. In the Location field enter "br200" and tab out
    106. In the Target Start field click the Select Date and Time
    button
    107. Click today's date, then click a time that is 4 hours from
    now, then click OK
    108. Repeat the steps to populate the Scheduled Start field
    109. Save the record
    110. On the Plans tab | Tasks section | click the New Row button
    
    111. In the Sequence field enter 1
    112. In the Summary field enter "Task One"
    113. Save the record
    114. Common Actions | Approve Work Order
    115. Click OK
    116. On the Plans tab | Materials tab | click the New Row button
    
    117. In the Task field | Select Value | click 10
    118. In the Item field enter "n-001", then tab out
    119. In the Storeroom Site field, enter "nashua", then tab out
    120. Verify that the Storeroom field populates with the value,
    CENTRAL
    121. In the Quantity field, enter 4
    122. In the Reservation Type field, click the drop-down arrow,
    then click Hard
    123. Save the record
    124. On the Work Order tab | Work Package Material Status field
    | Detail Menu | Current Work Order Storeroom Materials
    125. Verify that the Reservation Type column is populated with
    "BACKORDER" (Storeroom Site = NASHUA)
    126. Go To System Configuration | Platform Configuration | Cron
    Task Setup
    127. In the Cron Task field, enter "womat", then press Enter
    128. Click WOMaterialStatusUpdateCronTask to open the record
    129. On the History tab, view the most current row's Start Time
    and End Time to determine when the cron task will execute next
    130. Navigate back to the List View tab and wait until the cron
    task has run
    131. Navigate back to the cron task History tab to verify that
    the cron task has run
    132. Open the task Work Order, or refresh the view for the
    record if it was in focus previously
    133. On the Work Order tab view the values in fields: Status,
    Storeroom Material Status, Work Package Material Status,
    Material Status Last Updated
    
    RESULT:
    Values are not updated:
    Status = APPR
    Storeroom Material Status = null
    Work Package Material Status = null
    Material Status Last Updated = null
    
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Values are updated correctly:
    Status = WMATL
    Storeroom Material Status = NONE
    Work Package Material Status = NONE
    Material Status Last Updated = date and time of the cron task
    Activity after the Work Order was last saved
    
    If the Update Material Status button is clicked in the Material
    Last Updated field, , then the values update correctly.

Local fix

  • LOCAL WORKAROUND:
    Use the Update Material Status button instead of the scheduled
    WOMaterialStatusUpdateCronTask

Problem conclusion

  • A fix based in the addition of an attribute to the
    WOMATSTATUSSYNC table was developed to solve the issue.
