• ABSTRACT:
  BMXAA9991W Error On Work Order Actuals When Item Has An Updated
  Cost Type
  
  DESCRIPTION:
  If the Cost Type is changed on a rotating item, and then the
  item is added to Work Order Actuals, an error is presented to
  prompt removal and re-add. If the item is removed and re-added,
  the error persists. The error will be presented for an item with
  any Cost Type value that has been updated from the item's
  original Cost Type.
  
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. Log in to maxdemo instance
  Create Rotating Item of Cost Type Asset:
  2. Go To Inventory | Item Master
  3. Common Actions | New Item
  4. In the Item field, enter "R-01"
  5. In the Description field, enter "Rotating Item 01"
  6. Click the checkbox for "Rotating?"
  7. In the Order Unit field, enter "each", then tab out
  8. In the Issue Unit field, enter "each", then tab out
  9. Save the record
  10. More Actions | Add Item to Storeroom
  11. In the Storeroom field, enter "central", then tab out
  12. Click OK
  13. In the Issue Cost Type field | Select Value | click ASSET
  14. In the Unit Cost field, enter 125, then tab out
  15. Click OK
  16. Common Actions | Change Status
  17. In the New Status field, click the drop-down arrow, then
  click Active
  18. Click the checkbox for "Roll New Status to Organizations and
  Inventory?"
  19. Click OK
  Create and Receive PO for the item:
  20. Go To Purchasing | Purchase Orders
  21. Common Actions | New Purchase Order
  22. In the Company field, enter "almar", then tab out
  23. On the PO Lines tab, click the New Row button
  24. In the Item field, enter "r-01", then tab out
  25. In the Quantity field, enter 4
  26. In the Storeroom field, enter "central", then tab out
  27. Save the record
  28. Common Actions | Approve Purchase Order
  29. Click OK
  30. Go To Purchasing | Receiving
  31. In the PO field, enter the PO number that was approved, then
  press Enter
  32. Click to open the record
  33. Click the Select Ordered Items button
  34. Click the checkbox to select the row, then click OK
  35. Save the record
  36. More Actions | Receive Rotating Items
  37. Click the Autonumber button, then click OK
  Create and Approve Work Order with Planned Material
  38. Go To Work Orders | Work Order Tracking
  39. Common Actions | New Work Order
  40. In the Location field, enter "br200", then tab out
  41. On the Plans tab | Tasks for Work Order section | click the
  New Row button
  42. In the Task 10 Description field, enter "Task One"
  43. On the Materials tab, click the New Row button
  44. In the Item field, enter "r-01", then tab out
  45. In the Storeroom field, enter "central", then tab out
  46. Save the record
  47. Common Actions | Approve Work Order
  48. Click OK
  Add the item to the Actuals tab:
  49. On the Actuals tab | Materials tab | click the Select
  Reserved Items button
  50. Click the checkbox to select the item, then click OK
  51. Expand the details for the row
  52. In the Rotating Asset field | Detail Menu | Select Value |
  click any value
  53. Save the record
  RESULT: System Message, "BMXAA9991W - Average cost has changed.
  Work Order Actual must be removed and re-added."
  54. Click OK
  55. Click the "Mark Row for Delete" button
  56. Save the record
  RESULT: BMXAA8229W - Record WORKORDER : Site=BEDFORD Work
  Order=4704 has been updated by another user. Your changes have
  not been saved. Refresh the record and try again.
  57. Click OK
  58. Sign Out
  59. Click No at the System Message, "BMXAA2300I - Do you want to
  save your changes before continuing?"
  60. Log in
  61. Go To Work Orders | Work Order Tracking
  62. Open the record that was just Approved
  63. On the Actuals tab | Materials tab | click the Select
  Reserved Items button
  64. Click the checkbox to select the item, then click OK
  65. Expand the details for the row
  66. In the Rotating Asset field | Detail Menu | Select Value |
  click any value
  67. Save the record
  
  RESULT:
  System Message persists, " BMXAA9991W - Average cost has
  changed. Work Order Actual must be removed and re-added."
  
  EXPECTED RESULT:
  Item's Cost Type can be changed without error, or removed from
  Actuals and then re-added without error
