Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    
    An extra 'Change Status' option is added in the Workflow
    sub-menu in the Actions menu in PM application when you do Add
    Workflow to Applications and Add Support for PM.
     
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 
    1. Go to Preventive Maintenance and select any record.
    2. The main Actions menu has no Workflow option available.
    3. Go to Application Designer, open the PM record and then
    the "Add/Modify Select Action Menu option.
    4. There are 28 rows listed there.
    5. Go to Workflow Designer, add a WF process for PM and do Add
    Workflow to Applications > Add Support for PM and OK.
    6. Go to Application Designer, open the PM record and then
    the "Add/Modify Select Action Menu option.
    7. The extra options that relate to Workflow are now visible:
    AM10, ROUTEWF, STOPWF, HISTORYWF, ASSIGNWF, VIEWWF, HELPWF
    8. Go to Preventive Maintenance and select any record.
    9. The main Workflow option is visible this time but doesnt
    have the expected options (Route WF, Stop WF, View WF History,
    View WF Assignments, View WF Map and WF Help).
    10. On the other hand, there is an extra 'Change Status' option
    visible in the Workflow sub-menu, duplicated from the one in the
    main Common Actions menu.
    11. Log out of Maximo and log back in.
    12. Go to Preventive Maintenance and select any record.
    13. The Workflow options are visible this time (Route WF, Stop
    WF, View WF History, View WF Assignments, View WF Map and WF
    Help), and the extra 'Change Status' option is still there in
    the Workflow sub-menu.
    
    RESULTS: 
    The standard 'Change Status' option is visible in the main
    Common Actions menu, as expected. But there is an extra
    duplicate 'Change Status' option visible in the Workflow
    sub-menu too.
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    
    An extra 'Change Status' option should not be added in the
    Workflow sub-menu in the Actions menu in PM application when you
    do Add Workflow to Applications and Add Support for PM.

Local fix

  • Open the PM record in Application Designer, select the
    "Add/Modify Select Action Menu" option and the STATUS value.
    Change the Subposition for the STATUS Key Value from 5 to 0.
