Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If you type in a date-time value with a dot as HH-MM separator
in a DateTime field (regardless whether you use DD-MM-YY or
MM-DD-YY date formats), this date-time value will be changed
(both the date and the time) after the record is saved. This
doesnt happen if you type in the value with a colon as HH-MM
separator. Users cannot use the numeric keypad on their
keyboards to enter DATETIME value as a result.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    - In Work Order Tracking, create a new record.
    - In the Target Start field, type in manually [ 20/01/23 5.30 ]
with a DOT between the hour and minutes values.
    - Save the record.
    - The date-time value is changed to [ 11/02/23 2:00AM ]
    - Clear this field and save.
    - In the same Target Start field, type in manually [ 20/01/23
2.15 ] with a DOT between the hour and minutes values.
    - Save the record.
    - The date-time value is changed to [ 28/01/23 11:00 PM ]
    - Clear this field and save.
    - In the same Target Start field, type in manually [ 20/01/23
5:30 ] with a COLON between the hour and minutes values.
    - Save the record.
    - This time, the value is saved with the same result that was
    manually typed in.

    RESULTS:
If you type in a value with a dot as HH-MM separator in a
DateTime field, this date-time value will be changed (both the
date and the time) after the record is saved.
If you type in a value with a colon as HH-MM separator in a
DateTime field, this date-time value will be maintained after
    the record is saved.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

Users should be able to use either colons or dots to as HH-MM
separator in a DateTime field without they value being changed.

    REPORTED IN VERSION:
    Maximo TPAE 7.6.1.2

Local fix

  • Use a colon as HH-MM separator instead of a dot
