APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Forcing an error during the add new attachment file operation
    with ZIP files will make Maximo add the file to the server even
    if the operation is cancelled.
    
    This results in every month several files which are not
    associated to any record like Asset, WO, etc.. are added to the
    server. This generates extra and unused files on doclinks folder
    
    Customer tested latest IFIX for Maximo 7.6.1.2 and got the same
    results.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Open Maximo as maxadmin.
    2. Open Assets app.
    3. Bring any record to the screen.
    4. Click the clip to add attachment and select Add new file.
    5. Select a .ZIP file.
    6. In the Create a File Attachment, ensure the "Print attached
    document with report if printable type?"checkbox is marked, and
    click OK.
    
    You will get an error:
    
    BMXAA6152E - This file type cannot be printed. To attach this
    file type, clear the Print attached document with report if
    printable type? check box.
    
    7. Click OK, and then Cancel the Attachment add operation.
    8. The record shows no attachment, but the file was uploaded to
    the server.
    
    If you look into the DOCLINKS folder in the server, the file is
    uploaded there.
    
    
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    If you look into the DOCLINKS folder in the server, the file is
    uploaded there.
    
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    If you look into the DOCLINKS folder in the server, the file is
    NOT uploaded there.
