Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When one specific user uses Maximo taking up the entire
extra-wide monitor's screen and they populate the parameters for
a BIRT report, including SiteID and click Submit, they get an
error "BMXAA3556E - SiteID is a required field" even though the
    SiteID value is already populated.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    - In Maximo 7.6.1.x, select any BIRT report that has Site ID as
a mandatory field (or alternatively, make it mandatory in Report
    Administration)
    - Use an extra-wide monitor to view Maximo (for example, a 45
    monitor)
    - Open the relevant application and then select the relevant
    BIRT report from Run Reports.
    - Enter a value for the SIte ID by typing it manually.
    - Click Submit.
    - The BMXAA3556E - SiteID is a required field" error is
    displayed.

The behaviour occurs when ALL three factors below are met:
    - Issue occurs for one specific Maximo user.
    - issue occurs when their Maximo UI takes up the entire screen
of an extra-wide 45 monitor (no issue when using half of the
monitors available screen or when using just a laptop without
    external monitor)
    - issue occurs when the SiteID parameter value is populated by
typing it manually, not when entered via the Site lookup (and
not when clearing value after BMXAA3556E error and then manually
typing the SiteID value a second time)

    RESULTS:
The BMXAA3556E - SiteID is a required field" error is displayed
    after clicking Submit.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

There should be no error when all parameters have been
populated on the BIRT Reports Request Page, regardless whether
they are entered via lookup or typed in manually..

    REPORTED IN VERSION:
    Maximo TPAE 7.6.1.2

Local fix

  • Use the lookup to select the value for the parameter, if
    available
