Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The Material's Required Date is not changed when you reschedule
a WO using Graphical Scheduling, even though the
    UPDATEWPMATREQDATE variable is enabled.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    * By default the property in MAXVARS that controls this setting
is not set and it is also not available through Organisations.
The description of the property is Update WPMaterial Required
Dates when the Schedule Start date of the WO is updated?.
    * Log onto the database and execute the following SQL: update
    maxvars set varvalue=1 where varname='UPDATEWPMATREQDATE'
    * Restart Maximo application server to ensure it reads the new
    value in MAXVARS
    * Log into Maximo.
    * Go to Organizations, select your Org, go to Work Order Options
    / Edit Rules.
    * Enable all the options for APPR status and save.
    * Open Work Order Tracking
    * Create a new Work Order record with a Target Start Date in the
    future (eg, Nov 1).
    * Add Planned Labour, e.g. Electrician for 1 hour
    * Add Planned Material as an Item from a storeroom. Note that
the Required Date defaults to the Target Start Date specified.
    * Approve the Work Order.
    * Set the Scheduled Start on the Work Order to the following day
    and save. (eg, Nov 2).
    * Go to Plans tab / Material sub-tab: the Required Date is now
correctly updated to match the newly-entered SCHEDULE Start Date
(ie, to Nov 2). So the new value (1) of the UPDATEWPMATREQDATE
    variable is taken into account.
    * Create a saved query for this WO.
    * Go to Graphical Scheduling and create a new record.
    * Ensure the End Date is beyond the WOs Scheduled Start Date.
    * In Work Queries section, add the query for this WO.
    * Save the record and go to Graphical View tab.
    * The record shows in the Gantt View table with Start Date = Nov
    2.
    * Move the WO to two days later (ie, Nov 4) using the Calendar
icon on the Start Date column.
    * Save the record and then do Commit Changes.
    * Go back to Work Order Tracking and open the WO.
    * Check the Scheduled Start Date: it has been moved to that new
date (Nov 4), which is correct.
    * Go to Plans tab and Material sub-tab and expand the row for
    the Item request.
    * The Required Date value has not changed and still shows the
date that was initially set for Scheduled Date in the WO (ie,
    Nov 2).

    RESULTS:
The Required Date value has not been updated by the change to
the Scheduled Start Date that was made for this WO in Graphical
    Scheduling.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

The Required Date value in the WOs Plans tab and Material
sub-tab should also be updated by the change made to the
Scheduled Start Date for this WO in Graphical Scheduling.

    REPORTED IN VERSION:
    Maximo TPAE 7.6.1.2

Local fix

  • manually change the Required Date in the WO's Planned Material
to match the Scheduled Start date.
