APAR status

Error description

  • PROBLEM:
    Adding classification to Item causes index violation database
    error.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Create a rotating Item from Item Master and add any
    classification to it, the specifications are copied to the
    Specification tab for this classification.
    2. Save the Item record.
    3. Go to Asset application and create a new Asset linking the
    Item number above to this asset using Rotating Item field.
    4. Save the new Asset, the same specifications as the Item are
    copied to the Specifications tab of the Asset.
    5. Back to the Item Master application, bring up the same item
    and remove only the classification description field and click
    Save.
    
    6. Add the same classification description back in and tab,
    duplicate specifications appear under specifications tab (this
    should not happen).
    7. Delete the duplicated specifications records and click on
    Save.
    
    8. Clear the classification again, save and add it back in. The
    duplicated specifications appear again, delete it and save the
    record.
    
    RESULTS:
    The following error message is displayed: BMXAA4210E - Database
    error number -803 has occurred. Invalid SQL queries are logged
    in the log file. Check the SQL query to identify the error.
    
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    Duplicate specifications should not appear (step 6) and no error
    should happen after step 8.
