IJ44008: MAXIMO DOES NOT RECOGNIZE LINE TYPE SYNONYMS WHEN LINKING A PO TO A PR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Maximo does not recognize Line Type synonym values when linking
  a PO to a PR, causing the PR record to be reopened if the Line
  Type value is changed
  
  
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  
  1. Go to Domains Application
  
  2. Open the Line Type domain
  
  3. Add a new row
   Internal Value: MATERIAL
   Value: REPAIR
   Description: Repair
   Default?: Unchecked
  4. Save the record
  5. Go to Purchase Requisition application and create a new
  record.
  
  6. Go to PR Lines tab and add a new row under PR Lines
   Line type: Repair
   Item: TEST
  
  7. Save PR and approve it
  8. Under More Actions, click on Create PO
  
  9. The PR is closed and the PO was created.
  
  10. Open the PO record that was just created
  
  11. Specify a vendor
  
  12. Approve it
  
  13. Click on Revise PO
  
  14. Revision 1 will be created.
  
  15. Change the Line Type field to "Material" the Line Type
  is updated through Integration.
  
  to test outside of integration update backend with :
  
  update POLINE set LINETYPE = 'Material' where PONUM = 'x' and
  REVISIONNUM = 1 AND POLINENUM = 1
  
  16. Go back to the PO and check that the Line Type field was
  updated.
  
  17. Approve the Revision.
  
  18. Go to PO Lines and check Related Records.
  
  19. Fields PR and PR Line are now blank (normally they would
  have the PRNUM of the PR that generated the PO)
  20. Open the PR created on step 5. The PR is now back to APPR
  status, instead of closed.
  
  
  RESULTS:
  
  When the Line Type field is changed, the link between the PR and
  PO is lost.  There is no reference to the PR on the POLINE when
  the PO is approved, and the PR is now re-opened and in APPR
  status.
  
  EXPECTED RESULTS:
  
  When  updating Revised POLINE  Linetype through Integrations
  the  associated PR is not removed from the POLINE and
  PR to should remain CLOSED status.
  
  
  This is the same functionality that was available in Maximo
  7.6.0.8 When updating the linetype to different synonym value
  with the same internal value as the previous linetype through
  Integrations the PR and PO association was not removed and the
  PR did not be re-opened.
