Error description

  • DESCRIPTION:
When parent/child assets are created in the Storeroom in the
Receiving application via the Apply IAS dialog, the BINNUM on
the child asset is retaining the default bin associated with the
rotating Item of the child asset instead of the default Bin
number of the parent asset in the Item Assembly Structure.

Additionally, when a rotating asset with a parent is moved into
a storeroom it doesn t increase the inventory balance and isn t
    available for issue.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Create two Rotating Items (ITEM1 and ITEM2) in the Item
    Master application
    2. On the Item Master record for ITEM1, create an Item Assembly
Structure (IAS) by setting ITEM2 as a child of ITEM1
    3. Change the status of the Items to ACTIVE (click the "Roll New
Status to Organizations and Inventory?" checkbox)
    4. Add the two Items to the CENTRAL storeroom. In the Add Items
    to Storeroom  dialog, set the default bin for ITEM1 to BIN-A;
the default Bin for ITEM2 retains its default, BIN-B
    5. Create a PO for ITEM1 with a quantity of 1 for the CENTRAL
    Storeroom
    6. In the Receiving application, receive the PO and use the
Apply Item Assembly Structure dialog so that the child asset for
    ITEM2 is created

    RESULT:
ASSET.BINNUM of child asset with Itemnum=ITEM2 that is created
in storeroom CENTRAL is set to its default, BIN-B

    EXPECTED RESULT:
ASSET.BINNUM of child asset with Itemnum=ITEM2 that is created
in storeroom CENTRAL should be set to the parent asset default,
    BIN-A
