IJ43394: MXDAILYFILEAPPENDER CREATING NEW LOG FILE EVERY SECOND.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After applying TPAE 7612 IFIX 21 version
  TPAE_7612_IFIX.20220628-1241, any log file using
  MXDailyFileAppender appears to roll over very quickly contrary
  to what settings are defined in the Logging application,
  creating new log file every second. With a 5MB file size and 20
  backup index, these log files roll over within seconds at very
  low file sizes (1-10 KILOBYTE).
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. In Maximo Logging application,  more actions -> list logging
  properties.
  Daily rolling appender is defined out of the box as below:

  RESULTS:
  Any log file using MXDailyFileAppender appears to rollover very
  quickly contrary to what settings are defined in the Logging
  application, creating new log file every second.

  Log file should roll over as per settings are defined in the
  Logging application.
