Error description

  • This is a rare scenario, very unlikely to be experienced by the
    customers following frequent ILMT updates.
    
    
    
    Software Catalog is now integrated with the ILMT server, so
    together with ILMT server upgrade, the Software Catalog is being
    updated as well. But if the import of that Software Catalog will
    fail during data import, it may be left stale in the ILMT
    database. As a result, the ILMT UI may be not operational after
    upgrade/migration to the latest ILMT version.
    
    
    
    To verify if ILMT instance is vulnerable to the issue:
    
    open following URL of the ILMT UI:
    https://<ILMT_host>:<ILMT_port>/sam/catalog_updates
    
    expand "Details" section
    find the latest row with columns "Content" and "Status" equal to
    "Catalog XML file" and "Success" respectively - if the value
    reported in the "Version" column is equal to "<no data>", then
    such ILMT instance is affected by this APAR.

Local fix

  • APAR Temporary Fix:
    
    Execute following SQL update on ILMT database (by default,
    temadb):

    is null
