Error description
Abstract: In some client machines, directprint in Chrome browser pops up printer selection dialog two times, once with a blank page and second time with actual report. Problem Description: Some customers are experiencing issues with direct print using Chrome browser. The first dialog will appear with the Print/Cancel options with a preview that is mostly empty. The header and footer of this 1 page report is showing portions of the url. At this point, if they print or cancel this page the actual report will run and show in a new print/cancel dialog and this report is the actual report. This can happen with Windows AND MAC computers Known versions are TPAE 7611 AND 7612 STEPS TO REPRODUCE: Using chrome, log into maximo go to work order tracking select a work order use the toolbar "Direct print work order detail" icon to initiate the Direct Print process. If you do not see this icon you need to add it (see below) a popup should appear informing that the process has started Within a few seconds you should see a window show on the left a preview of the report output and a printer selection dialog with Save/Cancel or Print/cancel depending on your default printer. This issue is intermittent so it may not fail for you. To configure Direct print icon on Work Order tracking: go to report administration find report woprint.rptdesign that belongs to WOTRACK application check the "Print?" optional set Print Location to ALL If Toolbar Sequence is blank, set it to 2 Save RESULTS: if this preview looks blank then you are likely experiencing this issue. Print it (or save it) to confirm. if this is the issue, after you print or save you will see this same dialog appear with a preview of the actual report. EXPECTED RESULTS: the Print/cancel dialog should appear once and should include your report. PRODUCT VERSION: 7611 7612
Local fix
There is no "fix" but a few worakarounds- - use a different browser - cancel the first dialog (the one that has the blank page.
