IJ38309: SETAGENTCONNECTION DOESN'T CHANGE SERVER VALUE ON WINDOWS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Executing the command setagentconnection against a Windows
    target system does not change the TEMS configuration setting if
    SERVER is the only specified parameter value.    As such, the
    issuing the command
    
    opt/IBM/ITM/tacmd setagentconnection -n Primary:BURGLARS2:NT -t
    nt -p SERVER=solans1
    
    does not change the configuration of the target system
    Primary:BURGLARS2:NT to point to the SERVER named solans1.
    

Local fix

  • Specify the fully qualified TEMS parameter value, not just the
    name the value for SERVER,  together with the other values will
    be  configured successfully.   Here's is an example
    
    opt/IBM/ITM/tacmd setagentconnection -n Primary:BURGLARS2:NT -t
    nt -p SERVER=solans1   PROTOCOL=IP_PIPE   IP_PIPE_PORT=1918
    

Problem summary

  • setagentconnection does not configure the SERVER value for
    Windows.
    
    
    Specifying only the SERVER parameter value for the
    setagentconnection command to configure Agents on a Windows
    system does not work.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Correctly adjust the index into the buffer holding the new
    configuration value to determine if a configuration value was
    sent by the user.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:

Temporary fix

  • Specify the fully qualified parameter list including SERVER,
    PROTOCOL and PORT values.
