Error description

  • This is a followup to Case TS007354708 which was reporting an
issue when the MaxMessages record does exist. But while trying
to reproduce that issue in a MaxDemo environment, we found that
the MaxMessages record is missing in certain instances.

The missing MaxMessages record is included in the product.msg
file delivered with Maximo 7.6.0.8 Fix Pack but not in the one
delivered with the Maximo 7.6.0.9 Fix Pack nor the ones included
with Maximo 7.6.1 or the 7.6.1.1 or 7.6.1.2 Fix Pack.

    PERFORMANCE ISSUE:
    No

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

    1) Check if the MaxMessages record for MsgKey =
deleteDefaultFlags and MsgGroup = signature exists. If you're in
a 7.6.1.x environment, you will most likely not see it. That is
the problem. But to see where it shows up, continue.

    2) Go to any application, search for something in that
application, click "Save Query", set the "Query Name" to "Test",
set as Public and click "OK".

    3) Sign out and then sign back in as another user.

    4) Go to the same application, open the View/Manage Queries
dialog, find the Public "Test" Query, click the "Default?"
    checkbox, and click "OK".

    5) Sign out and then sign back in as the original user.

    6) Go to the same application, open the View/Manage Queries
dialog, find the Public "Test" Query, and click/uncheck the
"Public?" checkbox. A (?) will appear next to the checkbox.

    7) Click on the (?) to see a message box with a somewhat
cryptic message referencing the MsgGroup and MsgKey with no
    intelligent message for the user.

The MaxMessages record should include DisplayMethod = MSGBOX,
MsgID = BMXAA9489W, Options = 56, and Value = "This query is the
default query for other users. If the query is set to private,
the query is removed as the default query for those users. Do
    you want to continue?".

    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
MsgID = BMXAA9489W, Options = 56, and Value = "This query is the
default query for other users. If the query is set to private,
the query is removed as the default query for those users. Do
    you want to continue?"

    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Show the right message.
