APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: committed
value cannot be larger than the max value
.
Stack Trace: N/A
.
It could cause GarbageCollectionNotification to stop working.

Local fix

  • Avoid using the -Xmns option without specifying the -Xms option
in -Xgcpolicy:balanced mode.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by the default initial heap size being
smaller than the user specified initial eden size(-Xmns).

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated to match the initial heap size to the
initial eden size for the case.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR7 FP5   (8.0.7.5)
