APAR status

Error description

  • Using the command line option '-e' for the tacmd tepslogin
command results in the following error reported to the user:

[tivadmin@lxtm1032:/]$ tacmd tepslogin -s
lxtm1032.gcb-us-hosts.citicorp.com -u tivadmin -e
KUICTL001I Validating user credentials...
KUICTL099E The tepsLogin command failed because an unexpected
error occurred. Please consult the
/Tivoli/IBM/ITM/logs/TepsLoginCLI_0.log log file to determine
the cause of the error.
An unexpected system error occurred while executing the
tepsLogin command.
The TepsLoginCLI_0.log file may provide more information about
this error. If you require further assistance resolving the
error, contact IBM Software Support.
KUICTL001I Validating user credentials...
KUICTL099E The tepsLogin command failed because an unexpected

You are not logged in because you specified an incorrect user
name or password or you do not have permission to log in.


Verify the correct user name and password and that you have
permission to log in.

Local fix

  • Do not use the -e option.  Rather log into the TEPS specifying
the -u and -p options.
