IJ36902: IN THE ASSETS APPLICATION, ROTATING ASSET RECORD IS NOT DECOMMISSIONED ON CHANGING INVENTORY USAGE RECORD TO SHIPPED.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    1. Go to Item Master application.
    
    2. Create a new Item record as the following and save it:
    Item: ITEM1015
    Rotating: Yes
    Order Unit: EACH
    Issue Unit: EACH
    
    3. Change Item Status to ACTIVE, selecting the option "Roll New
    Status to Organizations and Inventory?".
    
    4. Select Action > Add Items to Storeroom.
    
    5. From Add Items to Storeroom dialog, enter:
    BEDFORD Site
    CENTRAL Storeroom
    Unit Cost: 1.00
    
    6. Select Action > Add Items to Storeroom again.
    
    7. From Add Items to Storeroom dialog, enter:
    NASHUA Site
    PKG Storeroom
    Unit Cost: 1.00
    
    Note:
    As result, now ITEM1015 is displayed in both Storerooms/Sites:
    CENTRAL/BEDFORD and PKG/NASHUA.
    
    8. Go to Assets application.
    
    9. Create 3 new Asset records as the following:
    
    Asset: AS1015-1
    Status: Not Ready
    Location: CENTRAL
    Item: ITEM1015
    
    Asset: AS1015-2
    Status: Not Ready
    Location: CENTRAL
    Item: ITEM1015
    
    Asset: AS1015-3
    Status: Not Ready
    Location: CENTRAL
    Item: ITEM1015
    
    Note:
    As result, Inventory application now displays ITEM1015 with
    Current Balance=3.00 in CENTRAL Storeroom/BEDFORD Site.
    
    Scenario 1:
    
    1. Go to Inventory Usage application.
    
    2. Create a new Usage document as the following:
    Usage Type: TRANSFER
    From Storeroom: CENTRAL
    
    Usage Line:
    Line Type: Item
    Quantity: 1.00
    Item: ITEM1015
    Rotating Asset: AS1015-1
    To Site: NASHUA
    To Storeroom: PKG
    
    3. Save the record.
    
    4. Change Status to Shipped.
    
    5. In the Create Shipment dialog, click OK.
    
    6. Go to Assets application.
    
    7. In the List View tab, filter by Rotating Item ITEM1015.
    
    RESULTS:
    No problem. Note that Asset AS1015-1 status correctly changed to
    Decommissioned as expected.
    
    Scenario 2:
    
    1. Go to Inventory Usage application.
    
    2. Create a new Usage document as the following:
    Usage Type: TRANSFER
    From Storeroom: CENTRAL
    
    Usage Line:
    Line Type: Item
    Quantity: 2.00
    Item: ITEM1015
    To Site: NASHUA
    To Storeroom: PKG
    
    3. Save the record.
    
    4. Change Status to Shipped.
    
    5. In the Split Usage Quantity dialog, click on Auto-Split
    button.
    
    6. Still in the Split Usage Quantity dialog, note the system
    automatically brings up both Rotating Assets AS1015-2 and
    AS1015-3. Click OK.
    
    7. Back to Create Shipment dialog, click OK.
    
    8. Go to Assets application.
    
    9. In the List View tab, filter by Rotating Item ITEM1015.
    
    RESULTS:
    Note that both Asset AS1015-2 and AS1015-3 status remain Not
    Ready. This is the issue.
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    Both Asset AS1015-2 and AS1015-3 status should have been changed
    to Decommissioned.
