APAR status

Error description

  • The integration from CICS Explorer Transaction View to CICS PA
    is not working.
    Right click on a transaction , select Performance History ->
    Transaction Timeline. It generates an "unhandled event loop
    exception"

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When using CICS Explorer 5.5 with the CICS Performance Analyzer
    plug-in 5.4 connected to a CICSplex (CMCI) and a CICS
    Performance Analyzer database, where the database contains data
    for a region that is managed by the CICSplex, an unhandled loop
    exception occurs when a transaction has been selected in the
    transaction view (in SM perspective) and the Performance History
    is selected from the context menu.  A Null Pointer Exception
    occurs in the Timeline.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A Null Pointer Exception no longer occurs in the Transaction
    Timeline when the Performance History has been selected for a
    given transaction.
    .
    This fix will be made available in Version 5.4.0.9 of the CICS
    Performance Analyzer plug-in for CICS Explorer.
