Error description

  • This APAR includes fixes to various defects identified in CICS
    Explorer V5.5.0.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • - The version of WDT that is available to install with CICS
    Explorer needs to be updated.
    - Terminology needs to be updated to update DB2 to Db2.
    - The Java service level shipped with CICS Explorer (Java 8 SR6
    FP35) should be updated to a later Fix Pack level.
    - When using IBM Developer for z/os (IDz) 14.2.5 or 14.2.6 along
    with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) 7.0.1 or 7.0.2,
    an exception is thrown when resolving the package descriptor for
    package
    "org.eclipse.emf.ecore.plugin.RegistryReader EPackageDescriptor@
    r@b8141d95":java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:com.ibm.cics.manage
    dplatform.platform.PlatformPackage.
    - The hint message that prompts a user when creating a bundle
    project if the user has no projects in their workspace needs to
    be updated.
    - Improvements need to be made to the placing of columns for
    definitions views in new workspaces.
    - The Gson open source library needs to be updated from version
    2.8.6.
    - A null pointer exception occurs when opening a Workload
    Specification Editor on a Workload Specification that has been
    deleted.
    

Problem conclusion

  • - The version of WDT that is available to install with CICS
    Explorer has been updated to 20.0.0.9.
    - Terminology has been updated from DB2 to Db2.
    - The Java service level shipped with CICS Explorer has been
    updated to Java 8 SR7.
    - The error
    "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:com.ibm.cics.managedplatform.p
    latform.PlatformPackage" no longer occurs when resolving the
    package descriptor for package
    "org.eclipse.emf.ecore.plugin.RegistryReader EPackageDescriptor@
    @b8141d95".
    - The wording of the hint message that prompts a user when
    creating a bundle project if they have no projects in their
    workspace has been improved.
    - For definitions views, in new workspaces, the CSD Group column
    is now shown alongside the BAS version column.
    - The Gson open source library has been updated from version
    2.8.6 to version 2.8.9.
    - A null pointer exception no longer occurs when opening a
    Workload Specification Editor on a Workload Specification that
    has been deleted.

    This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.21 of the CICS
    Explorer.
