IJ35749: 'BMXAA3140E - ALERT LEAD MUST BE LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO THE FREQUENCY' ERROR WHEN TRYING TO UPDATE ASSOCIATED PM IN MASTER PM

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DESCRIPTION:
  'BMXAA3140E - Alert Lead must be less than or equal to the
  frequency' error when trying to Update Associated PM in Master
  PM
  
  STEPS TO REPLICATE:
  
  1. In the Master PM application, create a new record for Master
  PM (1002) Give all details like Item (Any item), Item Set, etc.
  
  2. In the Frequency tab, give frequency data as below:
  i. Frequency = 7
  ii. Frequency Units = Days
  iii. Alert Lead = 5
  
  3. From More Actions, Click on Create Associated PM and create
  the PM. You will get information like PM number (1042; site:
  fleet) from the system message after creating PM.
  
  4. Now Navigate to that Preventive maintenance record. and check
  the frequency and Alert lead in the Frequency tab. It should be
  similar to Master PM.
  
  5. Now navigate back to Master PM application.
  
  6. Change the frequency of Master PM which is created in step no
  2 as below
  i. Frequency - 1
  ii. Frequency Unit - Months
  Here Alert lead will be updated 0 automatically.
  
  7. Under More Actions, click on the Update Associated PMs
  option. Select the site for which you have created the PM.
  
  RESULT:
  'BMXAA3140E - Alert Lead must be less than or equal to the
  frequency.
  
  EXPECTED RESULT:
  Ideally, this error should not come as we are updating the PM
  using the Update associated PM option and Master PM has
  frequency 1 Month and alert lead 0. which is less than
  frequency.
