IJ34729: TACMD HISTLISTPRODUCT FAILS

IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.3.0 Fix Pack 7 Service Pack 9 (6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0009)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Executing Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server  (TEPS) 6.3.0 Fix
  Pack 7, Service Pack 7 CLI commands on AIX 7.X  will result in
  an unexpected error.
  
  So executing the command:
  
  tacmd histlistproduct
  
  results in the following  message returned to the user:
  
  
  KUIHLP001I Validating user credentials...
  KUIHLP099E The histlistproduct command failed because an
  unexpected error occurred.
  
  
  Please consult the
  /opt/IBM/TEMS/logs/HistoryConfigurationCLI_0.log log file to
  determine the cause of the error.
  
  
  An examination of the log file
  /opt/IBM/TEMS/logs/HistoryConfigurationCLI_0.log shows the
  following Error message:
  Jul 01, 2021 7:32:56 AM com.ibm.tivoli.itm.history.listProducts
  jnimain
  SEVERE: Initialization failed. There may be problem with the Jar
  files in the system.
  

Local fix

• FOR AIX ONLY:
  
  Edit the script file  $CANDLEHOME/bin/tacmd
  
  
  Locate and change the line:
  
  LIBPATH=$ICCRTE_DIR_LIB:$TACMD_LIB_PATH:$CANDLEHOME/tmaitm6/$bi
  nArch/lib:$JavaHome/bin/j9vm/:$JavaHome/bin/:$JavaHome/lib/ppc:
  $JavaHome/lib/ppc64:$LIBPATH
  
  by adding the pathname $JavaHome/lib/icc to the LIBPATH string
  as follows:
  
  LIBPATH=$ICCRTE_DIR_LIB:$TACMD_LIB_PATH:$CANDLEHOME/tmaitm6/$bi
  nArch/lib:$JavaHome/bin/j9vm/:$JavaHome/bin/:$JavaHome/lib/ppc:
  $JavaHome/lib/ppc64:$JavaHome/lib/icc:$LIBPATH
  

Problem summary

• Executing TEPS tacmd commands on AIX with 6.3 FP7 SP7 installed
  fail.
  
  
  TEPS commands on AIX fail for ITM 6.3.0 FP7 SP7
  

Problem conclusion

• Update the $CANDLEHOME/bin/tacmd script to include the pathname
  for the ICC component
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
  
     | service pack | 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0009
  

Temporary fix

• Edit the script file  $CANDLEHOME/bin/tacmd
  
  
  Locate and change the line:
