Error description
Content is not properly encoded and causes assistive technology to convey incorrect information. The following are examples: 1) The following occur in the Navigation bar: The link graphics are not properly encoded and cause assistive technology to repeat the keyboard shortcuts to activate the elements. For example, when the Bulletins link graphic receives focus assistive technology reads, ?Bulletins: (0) alt + B alt + B link graphic.? 2) The following occur in Service Requests: The toolbar containing the New Service Request button is not properly encoded. The name is repeated when read by assistive technology. Assistive technology reads, ?Toolbar toolbar.? STEPS TO REPRODUCE: Issue 1: On a PC with Jaws 2020 installed Login to Maximo 7612 ensure you have a user with "Use Screen Reader" set Start Jaws On Start Center click on the current username in the title bar. this should set focus. Hit tab to move to the Bulletins icon. Note reader says "?Bulletins: (0) alt + B alt + B link graphic." The other icons on the bar do the same thing Issue 2: On a PC with Jaws 2020 installed Login to Maximo 7612 ensure you have a user with "Use Screen Reader" set Go to Service Desk/Service Requests Start Jaws move focus to the navigation bar by clicking in "Find Service Request" in left panel. Hit tab 3 times to move focus to the Add button When the "Add" button gets focus, the reader reads "Toolbar, toolbar. new service request Ctrl+Alt+I button. To activate press Enter" The other navigation items such as Save and Undo also start with "Toolbar, toolbar" RESULTS: Incorrect interpretation of the screen leads to confusion when assistive technology is needed EXPECTED RESULTS: If buttons are properly encoded the technology would read correctly PRODUCT VERSION: 7.6.1.2
