Error description

  • The issue may occur when customer has defined multiple VM
manager connections to the same cluster (this is the case
especially for the Hyper-V if ILMT is not configured to use the
same credentials to connect to other hosts in the same cluster,
rather connection to each host is defined separately). ILMT
processes the data in many threads. When data coming from an
arbitrary cluster are being processed by one thread, then data
from the same cluster will be discarded by other threads even
though they may contain data about different host. As a result,
some of the hosts from the clusters may not be processed even
though the scan results are correct. Thus, endpoints running on
those hosts can be reported as having Outdated VM Manager Data
or No VM Manager Data status.

Local fix

  • As a workaround, customer can set the number of import threads
to 1 (numberOfImportThreads setting on the Management >
Advanced Server Settings panel), thus making the import
single-thread. But this setting causes the VM manager scans,
Capacity scans, SLM tag scans and Disconnected scans processing
    longer.
