APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If one cron task fails to start, all subsequent cron tasks also
    fail to start. When the JVM starts, Maximo will attempt to
    start all active cron tasks.
    Sometimes a cron task cannot be started. This may result in an
    error such this error:
    "BMXAA6354E - The cron task instance cannot be found. Ensure
    that the cron task instance is set up properly in the Crontask
    application and try again."
    As shown in the log snippet below:

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    N/A
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:   If one crontask fails to start, Maximo
    should continue to attempt to start subsequent cron tasks.
    
    REPORTED IN VERSION:
    Maximo 7.6.1.1
    

Local fix

  • Find the crontasks that have not started. Then in the Cron
    Task Setup application ,find the crontask and choose More
    Actions, Reload Request.
