Local fix
Problem summary
The uni-code point of the garbled (3rd) Japanese characters is \'96\. As per the default character set used for the RTF document this value is undefined (0) in ansi.txt table leading to this character not be handled by RTFParser and wrongly converted
Problem conclusion
Changed the RTFParser to make use of latin1TranslationTable which does not include any undefined values like ansi's translationTable. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR6 FP11 (8.0.6.11) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs.
