Error description

  • AIO installation fails with the following error:

LIC1407N You
are trying to register an invalid license certificate file,
"/home/**/prereq/db2/server/db2/license/db2std_vpc.lic"

There
are different ways the error may appear - if /tmp or /home are
mounted with NOEXEC, DB2 installation fails. if /home has only
NOSUID ,then DB2 installation is successful, yet adding the
license will fail. NOSUID on /tmp looks like doesn't have any
impact, at least at the installation
phase.

Local fix

  • Remount the file system where the DB2 instance directory
resides, and make sure is not mounted with the NOSUID or NOEXEC
flag (or both).
